Spam and Virus Scanning

How does Virus Scanning work?

Woosh virus scanners check all incoming and outgoing email meant for the Woosh email servers. If an email is found to be contaminated with a virus, the attachment is straight deleted, and you're notified via email.

How does SPAM Filtering work?

Woosh's spam filter checks all incoming email destined for Woosh mail servers. Any email determined to be spam will be tagged with the words SPAM: in the email subject. This lets you quickly recognize SPAM messages. You can create a rule within your email Software to move all such tagged messages into a folder. It is also recommended that you look into the folder from time to time to check for "false positives" - these are emails recognized on SPAM that may not be.

NB: We cannot guarantee a 100% catch rate on all viruses and SPAM messages, or that we will not sometimes catch valid messages as SPAM
